Taiwan holds elections for the following governing organs;
- the President and the Vice-President
- the members of the Legislative Yuan (Parliament)
- the Chief Executives of all local public entities
- the members of all local public assemblies
For the election of the President and the Vice-President, first-past-the-post is used.
For the Legislative Yuan election, 73 members are elected in 73 single-member constituencies by first-past-the-post, six members are elected in two multi-member constituencies representing indigenous populations by single non-transferable vote, and the remaining 34 members are elected by party-list proportional representation.
For the elections of the Chief Executives of all local public entities and the members of all local public assemblies, the Single Non-Transferable Vote is used as an electoral system.
